As a youth, fascinated and attracted by monochrome photographs, Peter Krahe was always on the lookout for the best technique, which would enable him to realise black & white photography.
Finally it was the digital infrared photography which enabled him to achieve the desired stark contrasts.
Landscapes appear almost surreal, the sky black, the clouds white and the leaves snow-white.
The absence of colour emphasizes the image and allows the viewer to focus on the essentials.
